Registered dietitian nutritionist

A Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) is a nationally recognized food and nutrition expert trained to translate the science of nutrition into practical guidance. Registered dietitians are licensed healthcare professionals who assess, diagnose, and treat nutrition-related concerns. They work in hospitals, clinics, community programs, private practice, and beyond. Every registered dietitian is a nutritionist, but not every nutritionist has the education, training, and credentials required to be a registered dietitian.

Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist

A Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) is a healthcare professional with in-depth training in diabetes prevention and management. CDCESs help people understand and navigate all stages of diabetes and prediabetes, offering education, encouragement, and evidence-based support. They focus on helping individuals build skills and confidence to manage their condition and achieve better health outcomes. Earning the CDCES credential requires extensive experience and passing a national certification exam.

Board Certified in Advanced Diabetes Management

The Board Certified in Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM) credential is awarded to licensed healthcare professionals who provide advanced-level diabetes care. This certification shows expertise in areas like medication adjustment, interpreting lab results, and developing personalized treatment plans. BC-ADM professionals often work with more complex cases and use a team-based approach to support long-term health and improved quality of life. Certification requires hands-on clinical experience and ongoing continuing education to maintain.
